The resu lts show ed that: ( 1) The w hole process of floral in itiation and developm ent lasted about onem onth from late M arch to early M ay; ( 2) On the floral apex the d ifferen t classes of organ prmi ord ia appeared in the follow ing sequence: calyx, corolla, androec ium and gynoecium, and they had overlapped w ith each other when occurr ing in turn; ( 3 ) The developm ent of anther and ovu le follow ed the f in ish of the flow er organ initiation. Pollen m other cells and w ell developed m icrosporag ium wall occurred when the d iam eter of the bud reached about 30 mm, and the arches porial cell wh ich played the role of m egaspore m other cell form ed in ovule w hen the d iam eter of the bud reached about 35 mm.
