M ethod s W e retrospectively analysed the ultra- sonic sonograms of 17 patients w ith fetal meconium peritonitis diagnosed by induced abortion operation. Resu lts There w ere 15 cases w ith strong calcific echo in their abdom inal cavities, 1 cases w ith fetal ascites, casesw ith meconium pseudocyst, casesw ith intestinal canal dilation and 5 casesw ith polyhydramnios. Conclusions The ultrasonic characteristics of fetalmeconium peritonitismainly include strong abdom inal calcific echo, fetal ascites, m econium pseudocyst, intestinal canal dilation and poly- hydramnios.
