Du ring th is p roce ss, temp eratu re is one of the mo st importan t p aram eters for con tro lling. In the secondary coo ling zone, the b illet su rface temp eratu re is the de sign ba sis of the waterdistribu tion con tro lling system. It is also an importan t way to m ain tain the b illet quality. Th is p ap er reviewed the b illet su rface temp eratu re m ea su rem en t in the secondary coo ling zone of con tinuou s ca sting. The p a p er also in troduced the p rincip le and p roce ss of the infrared m ea su rem en t. M eanwh ile, the p ap er an alyzed and summ arized the infrared temp eratu re m ea su rem en t and the re search work of the infrared thermograp hy in detail.
