Abstract:Hum id acid (HA ) is the representation of organ icm atter in w astew ater. The behav iors of adsorption and
photocatalytic ox idation of HA in w ater on T iO particles were studied. The effects of d ifferent factors on rem oval of

HA from water w ere investigated, such as m ass concentration of catalyst, initial value of pH, initial m ass
concentration of HA, etc. The resu lts show that the adsorption am ount of HA in balance on T iO2 particles is
independent of in itial pH value of the solution. The rem oval efficiency of HA is mi proved greatly w ith the decreasing
of initial pH value and in itialm ass concentration ofHA. Comparing the rem oval eff iciency of photocatalytic ox idation
w ith that of ultraviolet radiation alone, the photocataly tic ox idation is better than ultrav iolet radiation alone.
