Abstract Objective:To develop a chick chorioallantoicmembrane( CAM ) modelin vivo for observing the effects
of 12 Chinese herbs for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis on the angiogenesis of CAM.M eth
ods: Decoctions of 12 Chinese herbs loadedw ith gelatin sponge carrierwere appfied on chick CAM surface of7-
day- old fertilized eggs and incubated for 72 hours. Cutdown the CAM, take photosw ith a stereomicroscope, count
the number of CAM blood vesse,l analyse the effects of the angiogenesis of CAM. Results: Radix Paeoniae, Rhizoma
Curcumae, Radix Cureumae, RhizomaChuanxiong, RhizomaSpargani,i Semen Persicaehavean obvious effecton an
tiangiogenisis of CAM; Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Radix Notoginseng, Caulis Spatholob,i Semen Vaccariae have an
obvious effect on pro- angiogenisis of CAM; Radix SalviaeM iltiorrhizae, Flos Cartham i have not obvious effect.
