The system board is the communications (通信) web (网络) for the entire (整个) computer system. Every component of the base(system) unit(主机) connects directly (直接地) to the motherboard. It acts as a data path (路径) allowing the various (各种各样的) components (元件) to communicate (通信) with one another. External devices such as keyboard, mouse and monitor could not communicate with the base unit without the motherboard.
