So reasonable coding o f info rm ation can mi prove driving safe ty. A ccord ing to research requ irem ents, a task m odel w as devel op ed for the ergonom ics expermi ent. A fter subjects com plete the task s, their co rrect rate and reaction tmi e w ere m easured. Com bined the m easured results w ith eye m ovem ent data, the mi p act o f tex t and posit ion cod ing on inform ation identificat ion w as ana lyzed to provide a sc ien tif ic basis for the ergonom ics design of inform a t ion interface. Expermi ental resu lts show th at sub ject s identif ication o f the text inform at ion is a ffected by the position cod ing.
