Acknowledgements
My thesis cannot be finished without the assistance of many people. First and foremost, I would like to thank my supervisor Professor Bao Liying who inspired me to write this thesis. She took great pain to read the whole manuscript and provided constructive suggestions on improvement, which made the thesis better than it would have been. And special thanks to all the teachers in the Foreign Languages Department of Harbin Engineering University who have delivered interesting and instructive lectures during the four years’ undergraduate study.
Thanks should also be given to the subjects in Grade one, two, three, and four who had done the survey for me during free time.
Thanks should also be given to my roommates who assisted me in collecting the data. Without their patient help, my thesis would never be accomplished.
Finally, I should like to thank my parents and my boyfriend for their never-ending patience and encouragement.
