It offers a foundation and key concepts of language teaching pedagogy from the perspective of applied linguistics and language acquisition research. It examines the history of language teaching, current teaching methodologies, learner factors influencing language acquisition, and language learning theories. The course will consist of lectures and class discussions. After a lecture of approximately thirty to forty minutes, participants are invited to ask questions, respond to the queries, talk about their experiences, and express their viewpoints. The lecture will be delivered in English, but participants may choose to use either English or Japanese in their class work.
