Methods Wistar rats were ivi e ran omly into shamoperate group, control group an experiment group.The animals of experi ment group were injecte thrombin in brain.At the ue time some rats were kille an brain tissue was remove to measure the water content by rywet weight metho .The others were to measure of the protein expression of MMP9 an MMP2 by Western blot.The animals of control group were injecte aequales liquor natrii chlori i isotonicus. Results The water content of brain increase at 12 hours after injection thrombin, an peake at 3 ays. Compare with control group, in experiment group the expression of MMP9 were observe increasing obviously at 12 hours after injection thrombin, an peake at 3 ays, then ecrease gra ually. Some of MMP2 protein were observe until 24 hours in experiment group, an peake at 5 ays, then ecrease gra ually, an was significantly more tha
