Useful Rhetorical Terms to Know:;Irony (from the Greek “dissimulation”) = briefly, we can define irony as the gap between what is said and what is meant. Dramatic Irony = irony in speeches or a situation of a drama which is understood by the audience but not grasped by the characters in the play.
