Lesson 2 Relaxing I feel good to stand here to talk with you, I `ve been teaching for about 14 years. I know I `m far from excellence. But it`s a chance to improve myself. I treasure it very much and have made good preparations for it. I`m sure no matter what the result is. I`ll get some practice and make some progress from the experience. My topic is Unit 1, the second period. I divide my teaching plan into 5 parts. PART 1 Analysis of the teaching material ·STATUS AND FUNCTION This lesson is the second of Unit1. It’s a listening text. In this lesson, Ss can do a better listening practice, they also can master some listening skills, like guessing the words’ meaning, putting the difficult parts away. ·TEACHING AIMS AND DEMANGS Knowledge objects ·To practise listening for specific information ·To use strategies to predict answers before listening to a text. ·To practice expressing preferences. ·To become aware of hesitation techniques. ·To learn about ways of dealing with stress in everyday life. ·TEACHING KEY POINTS ·TEACHING DIFFICULTIES ·Students may panic when faced with listening activities. See teaching Help, page11 for ideas on how to overcome this problem. PART 2 Teaching Methods PART 3 Analysis of the Ss and learning methods Ss have learnt English for several years. But their English levels are different from student to student. I design the lesson to meet their different requirements eg. Set questions of different difficulty levels to make every student active in class. Ss should preview the text before class. As we know, Reading is a key to success in English study. For our students, to have a good command of English reading skill is of great importance. Knowing how to learn is more important than acquiring a lot of knowledge. So I`ll try my best to train them with some effectively by finding clues to grasp the structure of the passage,finding the key sentence of each para, to get a general idea, analyzing the long sentences or sentences with d
