However, there are great differences of wine culture between China and west due to the differences of living environment, historical background traditions,values and thinking mode, social norms and so on.;01;1. the difference of origin;晋人江统说：“酒之所兴，肇自上皇，或云仪狄，一曰杜康。”;; Besides, there are other different legends about the origin of the wine in China. For example, According to ancient annals, Yi Di(仪狄) was ordered by Yu the Great to produce mellow wine from fermented glutinous rice(糯米);The Chinese wine, most of them are based on food, wine brewing tightly in agriculture, become attached to part of the agricultural economy. ;The Origin of Western wine:; Dionysus(狄俄尼索斯), ;;2. the difference of kinds; Because of the differences of climates and soil, it is favourable to plant cereal crops in China, such as wheat, rice, sorghum, which are the main ingredients of Chinese wine. ; However, in western countries, soil is relatively poor, and is not suitable for cereal to be grown. And it is benificial to the growth of fruits, like grape and sugarcane. So grape wine is very popular in the west. ; Wine can be divided into three basic categories according to the techniques invovled in the brewing process. The three types are distilled spirits, fermented wine , and assembled alcoholic beverages.
