Sample validation for the guidelines for the simulation for the coefficient fw is also provided. Strategic direction: 7.3 High-level action: 7.3.2 Planned output: 7.3.2.1 Action to be taken: Paragraph 2 Related documents: MEPC 62/5/3, MEPC 62/5/16; MEPC 63/23; MEPC 64/4/7, MEPC 64/4/28; MEPC 65/4/11 and MEPC.1/Circ.796 Introduction 1 Document MEPC 65/4/11 (China), comments on fw simulation method in Part 1 of the Guidelines for the calculation of the coefficient fw for decrease in ship speed in a representative sea condition, for trial use set out in MEPC.1/Circ.796, and briefly describes draft alternative interim guidelines for the simulation for the coefficient fw, based on a new simulation method of wave added resistance. This document provides text for the draft alternative interim guidelines for the calculation of the coefficient fw, as set out in annex 1. Sample validation for the alternative guidelines for the simulation for the coefficient fw is provided in annex 2.
