跨文化视角下动物词汇的内涵与翻译 A Cross-cultural Study on the Connotation and Translation of Animal Words 内容摘要 漫长的人类发展史上，人类与动物频繁接触，人与动物之间产生互相依赖的关系。动物的形象在我们日常生活中留下烙印，形成各种独特的动物文化。因此，大量含有动物形象的词，习语，熟语等进入英，汉语。在日常交际或文学作品中，动物词汇的灵活运用并不少见，这使得英，汉语的描写更生动，用词更精练，色彩更丰富。 然而由于地理环境，风俗习惯，宗教等因素的不同，一些动物词汇在英，汉语中有着完全不同甚至相反的象征意义与文化内涵。各类文化障碍总是存在跨文化翻译过程中。 因此，在跨文化翻译中，保留原文的动物形象及其文化内涵，用译文中具有相同象征意义及文化内涵的另一种动物形象代替，这是实现成功翻译必须考虑的关键问题之一。本论文收集了一些英，汉动物词汇，并分析两种文化的差异，论文也介绍了准确表达原文动物词汇内涵的翻译方法。 关键词：动物词汇，跨文化，翻译 Abstract Throughout the history of the social evolution, man comes into contact with animals frequently, resulting in an interdependent relationship between man and animals. The images of animals root in the everyday life， forming many kinds of unique animals culture. Therefore, a lot of words, idioms or expressions—denoting animals or with vivid images of animals—come into English and Chinese languages. The clever use of animal words is by no means scare in everyday communication or literary works, which helps make English and Chinese vivid and lively in image, plain and expressive in character, and rich and strong in flavor. However, different nations do not treat all the animal words in the same way due to the different geographical environment, customs and habits, religion, etc. So many animal words may have totally different or even opposite cultural obstacles, always lie in wait during the course of translating from one culture into another. So in the cross-cultural translation, to keep the animal image and convey the cultural connotation, or to give up the cultural connotation and replace the animal image of the original text by other animal image with the same and similar symbol and cultural connotation, definitely, is one of the key problems that should be taken into consideration in the hope of doing a successful translation.
