Design of Control Equipment for Generators in Carriage Train Based on TL494

Key words: TL494; PWM; field current Abstract: According to application of the new type generator and the new requirement of power supply to new type of carriage train, the new type carriage generator and control system for this train based on 80C196 single-chip computer were designed. The system used the output voltage and current from the generator and the charging current as feedback variable. The output of PWM(pulse width modulation)was automatically adjusted by TL494 to control the field current of the generator, which accomplished stabilizing output voltage, output current and the charging current. This system has many advantages, such as high control accuracy, keen response, and simple structure.
