Students should have general communicative English language skills and should be able to write and read basic English, which is aimed to be improved throughout the course.? 开课目标 Objectives ???????? To introduce new and innovative ways of thinking about how music and literature influence and affect our societies. ???????? To engage students in interactive learning and thinking to help improve English language, reading and writing skills. ? 内容简介 Brief introduction of the course ? ? The course will provide an overview of cultural concepts with particular regard to music and literature and how these are viewed and treated in society. Students will be introduced to methods of analysis in the study of modern English literature and the study of ideas with relation to modern and popular music. Students will engage in group and individual based activities.? Classes will be interactive, inventive and enjoyable for all participating student. ? ? 课时计划及安排 Teaching plan ? In introductory classes, students will learn basic cultural concepts with relation to modern and popular music and literature and the ways in which these are important to society. The course will then focus on music and society for the first half, and literature and society for the second half.
