Explain in three slides, how the stripes don’t change their actual RGB values, but look completely different depending on the surrounding colours. Now let the students guess: Are the two Pinks alike or not alike? The students always at first say: they look different but they are alike. It’s always like that. I play with that and tell them: yes, you’re so smart! You have seen many of these “games” before, and it’s always like that! But check how is it here with the two pinks? Let them think hard and let them describe and guess for a while, you can even let them vote, before you click to the next step. The quiz slides are always a good way to really catch attention! In the last slides of this series you need to describe in circle and triangle how the perception of the small slides changes. And another one: it works selfexplaining. Let your students guess and ask them to ewxplain their thoughts! This is an example of completely dysfunctional use of colour. Explanation why this doesn‘t work! Wrong assoziation, (in a hospital red can stand for blood) Wrong from the functional viewpoint! What should the wave line indicate? Wrong nuance: too strong and too active in this context * How do you see yourself? How do others perceive you in red? Experts believe that red can make individuals and teams feel more confident as well as being perceived by others as more aggressive and dominant. Background: It is the colour worn by the football teams that have dominated the game. So it should come as no surprise that scientists have discovered that red is the colour for winners. Those who wear red tops, jackets or clothing score 10 per cent more in any competition
