Based on theoretical assumptions of the theory of acculturation effects and the “third person effect”, on the basis of evidences from investigation, analysis and discussion with college students, about their cognitive attitudes; their emotional tendency of different characters’ smoking scenes; their fascination or influences which were learnt from smoking scenes, for instance, whether it will affect their smoking behavior; how they perceive the government’s management of smoking scenes; and how they take social responsibilities towards film and television drama’s smoking scenes. We have made ??a number of constructive measures for management and guidance, with several suggestions of how to reduce the negative effects from smoking scenes in film and TV dramas, as well as how to influence college students’ cognitive attitudes and emotional bias positively.
