Business English Teaching Based on the Theory of Grammatical Metaphor （外国语言文学系 ） 摘要：语法隐喻是韩礼德功能语言学中的一个重要理论基石。本文首先扼要介绍韩礼德功能语法中的语法隐喻理论和传统商务英语教学内容和特点,在此基础上列举一些商务语篇中涉及语法隐喻的例子，探讨语法隐喻理论在教学中的应用，指出语法隐喻对于商务英语教学有一定的启示作用。教师或学习者通过在教学或学习过程中，借助语法隐喻理论进行商务语篇分析，引导其正确恰当地使用语法隐喻理论，从而帮助提高学习者的英语思维认知能力和学习效率，促使教学工作者转变传统的商务英语教学观念，促进商务英语教学改革。 关键词：语法隐喻；商务英语教学；一致式 Abstract: Grammatical metaphor is an important theory of Halliday’s functional linguistics. This paper simply introduces the grammatical metaphor theory and the contents and features of traditional Business English teaching. Besides, some business discourses are listed to explore the application of grammatical metaphor in teaching, and the conclusion that grammatical metaphor has some favorable influences on Business English teaching is reached. Teachers or learners can analyze business discourse with the help of the grammatical metaphor theory in the teaching / learning process, so as to help learners improve their English cognition and learning efficiency. Also, it impels teaching staff to change the traditional teaching concept and promote the reform of the teaching of Business English. Keywords: grammatical metaphor; Business English teaching; congruent form 1. Grammatical Metaphor The concept of grammatical metaphor is founded by Halliday. He distinguished two kinds of relations, one is congruent realization, namely, language structure reflects the structure of the real world directly. Grammar is the grammatical metaphor of the real world. Therefore, grammar is consistent with the reality. Another is the incongruent realization, namely, language structure shows a distorted relationship instead of directly reflecting the reality. This kind of relationship is the metaphorical process of linguistic forms, namely, the conversional process of language in different grammatical domain[1]100.
