Lead-in
1) Have you ever eaten out with your friends? If you eat out with your friends, what should you do? Ask the students to discuss their personal experience in the restaurant with their partners.
2)Choose two or three students to tell the class their experience.
3) To learn the new words and expressions in this unit.
The important words and the phrases:
chance n. 机会 receive v. 收到;接待
night view 夜景 order v. 点菜
recommend v. 推荐 seafood n. 海鲜
seasonal adj. 季节的,时令的 broccoli n. 花椰菜
celery n. 芹菜 Tsingtao Beer 青岛啤酒

4) Ask the students to discuss the lead-in activity in their books.
6-1 Making a Reservation
This part is designed to make the students learn how to make a reservation and grasp the words and expressions about the reservation.
1. Pre-listening tasks
1) What are the differences between Chinese and Western table manners? Ask the students to Discuss with your partner and give a report.
2) Ask the students to read the choices in this exercises and make guesses about what questions are going to be asked before they listen to the dialogue.
2. While-listening tasks
1) Play the dialogue once and let the students get the main idea of the material. And then the teacher explains the difficult language points.
2) Play the dialogue twice and let the students do Task 2.
3) Play the dialogue three times and let the students do Task 3 4.
