Reference My review of Moby Dick I.Introduction Moby Dick is written by Herman Melville. It’s one of the greatest novels in American history. But just such a book was thought that didn’t suit for children because it was too long and had been refused to public for several times. And the first year after it had public only five people bought it. It has been approved after it has been public for 70 years. Herman Melville is an American author, prosaist and poet. In the early time of his childhood, his family was rich, but when he grew up as a teenager his father’s business went broke. His family became poor and he had to left school. After he left school, he worked as a farmer, staffer and teacher. In 1841, he found a work as a cetacean hunter. After 3 years working, he settled down in Massachusetts and then he began to write novels. He published Typee in 1846 and published Omoo in 1847. In 1850, he began to create Moby Dick and he spent 17 months to finish it. In 1866, he got a job as a censor of New York’s custom. And he passed away in 1891. II.Background In Mid-nineteenth century, literature has a?common?theme of reject?and?seek ,?the theme?of Moby Dick in?similarly with that.
