YOUR TEAM TASK IS TO SEARCH FOR A MISSING DEPUTY His name is John Swan – cap lamp number 135 His Task was to conduct a pre work inspection of yellow panel The mine has recommenced operations in Yellow panel after this section of the mine had been closed for 5 years due to difficult mining conditions in low seam height. This section of the mine is being developed for eventual long wall extraction type mining. Last contact with him was 2 hours ago from the radio communication point in Yellow panel. This was to inform us he had completed his inspections and was on his way back to the surface via the return roadways to the portal. You are to commence your search from the return portal /second means of egress and search the return roadways into Yellow Panel as shown on the plan. You MUST communicate by radio to FAB from the fixed radio stations shown on the plan. RD (Radios are set up for you.) The phone system is out of order. First communication to FAB is to be from D4 Red mains. Your team will be given the relevant gas readings when you are actually performing gas reading operations using the XAM 7000 IF YOU DO NOT USE THE XAM 7000 INSTRUMENT YOU WILL NOT GET ANY GAS READINGS! * Teams will be told by the spare man/or the team interpreter where applicable. : Take a general body bag sample at C heading between 5 and 6 c/t Build a brattice stopping at C heading between 5and 6 c/t Determine the quantity of air flowing inbye 5 c/t B heading ? Contact FAB and report when complete When the teams’ report back on the radio they will be told by the spare man/or the team interpreter where applicable. :: You are to search for 2 men who were walking from 5 c/t towards the surface portal along X heading Green Mains.
