中华人民共和国国家质量监督检验检疫总局 General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of The People’s Republic of China (AQSIQ) (Translation for reference) COMMENTS ON THE DRAFT REPORT OF A MISSION CARRIED OUT IN THE PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF CHINA FROM 15 TO 25 SEPTEMBER 2003 IN ORDER TO EVALUATE THE CONTROLS OF RESIDUES IN LIVE ANIMALS AND ANIMAL PRODUCTS AND OF POULTRY MEAT HYGIENE From 15 to 25 September 2003, an FVO mission team was sent to China to evaluate its controls of residues in live animals and animal products and poultry meat hygiene. Later on 12 November 2003, the Draft Report of a Mission Carried Out in the People’s Republic of China from 15 to 25 September 2003 in Order to Evaluate the Controls of Residues in Live Animals and Animal Products and of Poultry Meat Hygiene (Hereinafter referred to as the draft report) was submitted to China authorities through EU Delegation in Beijing as the preliminary summary of the mission, to which China attaches great importance and an expert team was organized upon the arrival of the draft report to examine it. As is noted in the draft report, since 2001 substantial progress has been made in residue controls in China in terms of legislation, design and implementation of residue control programs, control of veterinary drugs, laboratory capacity building, and implementation of export oriented system (EOS), etc. A series of measures have been taken to meet the specific requirements of importing countries including the EU and to ensure effective controls on the whole food supply chain of exported products from raw materials to shipment. In EOS poultry establishments, quality standard system, disease and residue monitoring system and laboratory testing system have been established and further improved to ensure hygiene and safety of exported poultry products.
