Abstract Abstract In the Copenhagen conference, worrying about the issue of environment and energy has been aroused further. Nanotechnology has been continuously leading the people into new fields of research and solving the problems which the humanity faced. In this paper, a series of nano-TiO -hydrosol was prepared to use the optical properties of the TiO . TiO is such a 2 2 2 versatile semiconductor material with chemical stability and non-toxic harmless to bodies that has been widespread concerned. Current research in the field of the TiO2 is on the application of its optical properties. One is the preparation of the nano-TiO dye-sensitized cells (DSSC), 2 one of the others is the application of its photocatalyst property. DSC is a new type of photochemical solar cell. For the superiority of its fabrication process simple, low cost, stable and environmental friendly TiO2 has a good prospect. TiO2 can degrade the air poisonous gases and kill many bacterias. Toxins released from bacterias and fungals can be decomposed and harmless disposaled, meanwhile, it also has functions of deodorization and antifouling. This paper has two parts, the first part is that preparation of a series of TiO hydrosol, and the 2 dye sensitization solar cells electro-optic from this for raw material by the compound doping way. The plant chlorophyll used as the dye for preparing the solar cell. Use XRD to detect crystal structure and AFM to detect the surface morphology.
