On C-E Translation of Corporate Profile from the Perspective of Skopos Theory Abstract: With Chinas accession to the WTO, China is involved in the world economy. And more and more Chinese corporations are endeavoring to explore overseas markets. As a special medium, C-E corporate profile plays an important role in projecting corporation images and promoting corporation’s products and service in overseas markets. While traditional translation approaches guided by equivalence-based and faithfulness-based translation theories are far from satisfactory. At the same time, there are a mass of errors and problems caused by linguistics and culture in corporate profile in China on the grounds that there exist great differences between Chinese and English. To solve these problems, this thesis, with Skopos theory as its theoretical framework, aims at guiding C-E corporate profile in international markets. It mainly adopts three top-ranking strategies, namely, deletion, abridgement and addition. Deletion is used to delete wordy and redundant information to achieve conciseness. By means of leaving out unnecessary and irrelevant information, abridgement is used to avoid windbag. Addition is employed to specify the indigestible Chinese words or phrases by adding some relevant background knowledge of China, which makes it easier to be understood by English readers. Finally, we draw the conclusion that it is feasible to guide the C-E translation of corporate profile from the perspective of Skopos theory. Key Words: corporate profile; C-E translation；Skopos theorytranslation principles；translation strategies ：随着中国加入世界贸易组织，中国经济开始逐渐融入到世界经济的大潮之中。越来越多的中国企业开始致力于拓展海外市场。作为一种特殊的媒介，企业简介在树立中国企业形象和推销中国企业的产品和服务方面发挥了重要的作用，然而传统的翻译方法过分地拘泥于忠实与对等的翻译原则已经远远不能满足当今企业简介的英译要求。与此同时，由于汉语和英语在语言学和文化层面上存在着较大的差异，不少企业简介英译存在大量的语言学和文化上的错误。为了解决这些问题，这篇文章以目的论为理论框架来指导企业简介英译。本文主要采用三种有效的方法来对企业简介进行汉英翻译即删译法、节略法和增译法。删译法通过删减企业简介中冗长和多余的信息以达到使其简洁的效果。节略法是通过省略一些不必要的信息以避免英译的啰嗦，而增译法则是通过增加一些中国特有的并且英语国家读者难以理解的词或短语的背景知识的详细解释使他们更容易的
