Learning Contract PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT6 Learning Contract Name of Student: Xu Qiongyao Year Mode of Placement: Year 2 Concurrent Placement Name of Agency/Centre: Precious Blood Children’s Village (Children’s Home) Duration of Placement: September 9, 2013 to March 14, 2014 Service Nature: Residential Care Introduction From the beginning of June to the end of August of 2013, the student worker had her first placement on an after-school caring program and a summer caring program. The main targets of the student worker’s service were primary school students. Two cases and a group were done in total. One case service was for an angry boy by adopting behavioral modification, and the other case service was for a boy who needed social skill training. The group work was a social skill training group for fourth grade children. Additionally, a weekly outing activity was attended within the summer caring program. From the above placement, the student worker gained lots of different experience mainly working with primary school children. In addition, the student worker learned about her own strengths and weaknesses from these experiences. The student worker has good patience when working with clients, and tends to hold non-judgemental attitude towards different clients which would facilitate the relationship building process. However, the student worker is not confident enough most of the time, and not dynamic and cheerful enough when leading group. Some learning goals for the second placement are, therefore, generated after reflecting on the first placement and on the student worker’s professional development. Learning Goals What the student wants to learn 1) Learn to understand organizational structure and functions of the agency, and develop positive working relationship with colleagues in organizational context; 2) Learn to use strength-based approach when generating assessments of clients and maintain commitments to him/her. 3) Learn to identify the differences betw
