An actual research to production energy consumption of ports during the “Tenth Five-Year Plan” period was conducted by selecting two groups of representative samples of coastal and river ports. Based on the research data, the production energy consumption of coastal and river ports was calculated, resulting in unit consumption value of production energy consumption. The changes in the value were analyzed based on the real condition and energy consumption rationalization proposal was put forward.
