Know the differences between “planet” and “star” 3. Compare characteristics of objects.Teaching Aids： Transparency, a tape recorder, word cards, picture cards.Teaching Steps： I. Greeting and everyday English.  HYPERLINK zhaojiaoan II. Warm-up Ask the students how he/she comes to school. Is their home far away or near? Ask something best/longest etc. about their hometown. III. Part A Use pictures to teach the words sun, moon, earth, planet and star. Ask the students to talk something about space they know. Introduce something about space. Teach the comparatives. The sun is bigger than the moon. The moon is smaller than the earth. IV. Practice Show pictures and let the students read the new words. Play the tape and let the students listen and read after the tape. Invite some students to read Part A. Explain the word “huge”.Homework： Write the words and copy Part A twice. Practise reading Part A.Writing： Unit 3 Space (Part A) the sun-----star bright far the moon—planet near the earth----planet The sun is huge. It’s bigger than the earth.Teaching Feedback（教学反思） : In this period the students learn about the knowledge of the things in space, such as the sun HYPERLINK , the Earth, the moon , and so on. The students are very interested in learning about them. However, it is not easy to learning them well. It’s difficult for the students to learn them well and it’s also difficult for the teachers to teach them well.
