Department of Electronic Engineering of Tsinghua University, Beijing, China 1. sunedys@126.com Abstract: Weil-code is a kind of ranging codes with good performance and will be used in the GPS L1C and some other signals. For acquisition and tracking of the navigation signals, multi-channel ranging codes need to be generated in real time in the navigation signal receiver. Unlike the common Gold code, Weil-code is derived from a single fixed sequence called a Legendre sequence, which cant be generated by simple digital circuits in real-time. A common approach is to store all the Weil-code in memory, which will cost many resources. To solve this problem, a resource-saving real-time multi-channel Weil-code generator is designed in this paper. In the proposed generator, only the Legendre sequence is stored in memory. Weil-code is generated by the Legendre sequence with a simple digital circuit. This design saves many resources and easy to implement.
