2010 3rd International Conference on Power Electronics and Intelligent Transportation System Study on the intelligent vehicle model Based on Photoelectric sensor Leng Chongjie , Xiang Huiyu, Yang Dongxuan School of Mechanical Engineering, Beijing Technology Business University, Beijing 100048, China cjleng@163.com Abstract: The Paper studied an intelligent vehicle model which uses the16-bit MC9S12DGl28 chip for the core controller, and can be capable of identifying the predefined running track and traveling along the line automatically. The sensors for routing recognition of this model are consisted mainly of photoelectric and CCD/CMOS types. The Advantage of tracing scheme for photoelectric sensors is that the circuit is simple and the signal processing speed is fast. The disadvantage is that the effective vision distance is not long enough. In order to enlarge the vision distance, the laser sensor was selected as track identify unit. In order to make the vehicle model run rapid and stable on the track with complex path, Design optimization for the mechanical structure of some components affecting cruising speed of the vehicle model was performed, the corners control strategy was analyzed and the optimized solution was determined.
