The sensors for routing recognition of this model are consisted mainly of photoelectric and CCD/CMOS types. The Advantage of tracing scheme for photoelectric sensors is that the circuit is simple and the signal processing speed is fast. The disadvantage is that the effective vision distance is not long enough. In order to enlarge the vision distance, the laser sensor was selected as track identify unit. In order to make the vehicle model run rapid and stable on the track with complex path, Design optimization for the mechanical structure of some components affecting cruising speed of the vehicle model was performed, the corners control strategy was analyzed and the optimized solution was determined.
