The purpose of this thesis is to help us have an overall and profound understanding about the real society in the Jazz Age in the 1920s, which deeply reveals the spiritual degeneration that was concealed by money and pleasure and the meditation on the disintegration of the American dream in an era of unprecedented prosperity and material excess.
