 Good morning, ladies and gentleman. Today, I feel honored to have the chance to share my ideas about how to teach reading. In the reading process, I will focus on students’ long-term development and enable them to use proper reading skills and strategies. In other words, students are guided to read efficiently and independently. My teaching plan will include 5 sections. They’re analysis of the reading material, identifying the teaching aims, the important and difficult points, teaching methods, and teaching procedures. Section 1 Analysis of the reading material    The selected teaching material is a magazine article taken from Oxford high school English module seven Unit 2 Two life-saving medicines. The article focuses on two medicines that have changed people’s lives. According to the text themes, and students' cognitive level, I arrange for five teaching steps so as to help students have a better understanding of the two medicines, and improve their reading skills and abilities to use language when they participate in activities Section 2 Identifying the teaching aims    Based on the analysis of the teaching material, I have chosen the following as the teaching aims of my lesson:    1. Knowledge objects (1)The students can master the usage of the important words and expressions. (2)The students can use the Stress structure and the appositive clause in the proper situation. (3)The students can understand the content of the lesson and get the uses and development of Aspirin and Penicillin. 2. Ability objects (1) To develop the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing . (2) To improve the student’s reading ability, especially their skimming and scanning ability. (3)To guide students to set up effective studying strategies. 3. Emotion or moral objects (1) To train the students’ abilities of studying by themselves and cooperating (2)To train their team spirit of cooperation and sharing awareness in group activities. Stage
